Distillery 291 produces grain to glass whiskey from a small production facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Two of the most well known whiskey from 291 are 291 Colorado Rye Whiskey and 291 Colorado Bourbon Whiskey. Both brands are charcoal mellowed with Colorado aspen staves. Distillery 291 Whiskey is most notably recognized by winning a number of prestigious awards. Distillery 291 whiskey is sold in Colorado and California.
History
Distillery 291is based out of Colorado Springs, Colorado and was established on September 11, 2011, by Michael Myers. Myers was a successful fashion photographer in New York City for 15 years prior to establishing Distillery 291. Myers moved his family to Colorado after 9/11, and he continued to commute to NYC for photography shoots. On one of the flights back to Colorado, Myers read an article about the creator of Sailor Jerry and Hendrick's Gin, and thought, "I could do that." When Myers got back into town, he spoke to Bristol Brewing Company owner, Mike Bristol, and Mike offered assistance in getting started if Myers got his license to distill. Myers received his license and to commemorate the significant change in his life, distilled his first batch of whiskey on September 11, 2011.

El Paso County Process
Distillery 291 uses a technique called El Paso County Process in whiskey production. Created by founder, Michael Myers, El Paso County Process is the action of taking a finished beer, boiling off the alcohol and using a percentage of that stillage mixed with a water mash in the next batch.
Television Appearances
Distillery 291 Colorado Whiskey appears to be the whiskey of choice for character Beau in Season 2 of Netflix's The Ranch.
